Featherlow: Bird Out of Paradise is a fantasy book that started its journey in 2011. Elary was in her final year of college at Minneapolis College of Art and Design, where she majored in comic book design. She was tasked with creating a 15-page comic, and the idea for writing a middle grade fantasy book hit her mind. She was not thinking small (she never has), and she decided this was the perfect opportunity to start something big and full of color. Out of necessity, Eva was born, one of the best characters that fantasy books for middle grades should have. Although back then, the story was a lot different than what it is today. It has grown, like all good things. It is for all the people who love reading middle grade epic fantasy books​ and getting transported to a world full of fantasy and intrigue.
